I have been many times to Lackö, since it is so close to home, and I am really fascinated by its construction. I mean, there isn’t anything striking about this medieval “raw” castle, yet, for some reason, I am surprised by its geometry. It looks excellent from most of the angles. No matter how you tilt the camera, the castle lines and triangles just fall into a nice compositional place.
This harmony of shapes is most intriguing for me since the castle was built in several phases spawning across 250 years. So, there wasn’t just one person planning the whole thing from the start. The castle is a sum of patches added here and there. And they work greatly together, and as a result, the whole ensemble is a great photo target
On the other hand, I ain’t no expert in architecture…
